Admission Requirements

Admission to Educator Preparation Program and Student Teaching Flowchart


Admission to the Educator Preparation Program will be granted if students:

  • Take and pass the state-approved Core Academic Skills for Educators (CORE), or have an ACT composite score of 22 or better. NOTE: The CORE exam has three parts, reading, writing, and math. Students must pass two out of the three exams and have taken the failed test twice or pass their praxis content area to enter the EPP.
  • Establish and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Demonstrate an acceptable level of oral skills and a successful interview before the College of Education, Health and Behavioral Sciences Interview Board.
  • Submit to and successfully pass a criminal history background check.
