Present:  Bill Austin, Melba Figgins, Stephanie Kolitsch, Earlene Moore, Dorotha Norton, Stan Sieber, Doug Sterrett, K. Paul Jones for Christopher Chalokwu

1.  The Committee discussed the Cumulative Performance Review section of last year's tenure document.  The Board of Trustees has asked the Committee to include language concerning the consequences of a negative Cumulative Performance Review.  After much discussion and debate, Kay Durden made a motion to accept the attached document for inclusion in the tenure section of the Faculty Handbook.  (New text is shown in brackets.)  Earlene Moore seconded the motion, and the motion passed.

2.  The Committee asked K. Paul Jones and Academic Affairs to draft a set of Operating Guidelines (which are mentioned throughout the tenure document) for discussion by this Committee.

3.  Dr. Jones asked that the Committee consider Section 2.9.5.1.2 of the current Faculty Handbook, which had been inadvertently left out of the new tenure document.  Bill Austin moved that this language be included in Section 2.9.5.1 (concerning separation) of the tenure document.  Doug Sterrett seconded the motion, and the motion passed.  Stephanie Kolitsch is to provide to Dr. Jones a copy of this section with this language included.  (see attached document)

4.  The Committee discussed changes to the Faculty Handbook concerning Administrative Committees.  Kristy Crocker has provided a list of changes to this section to the Committee.  No action was taken on this issue.

5.  The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
