Mission Statement
The recycling operation started in 1989 in an agricultural class of environmentally-conscious students studying environmental ethics. The university sanctioned club, Project Recycle , gained national recognition in 1994 by winning a first-place award in "The Pledge and a Promise" competition sponsored by Anheuser Busch. The university used the $12,000 monetary award to construct a campus-recycling center. Presently, the university operates an aggressive recycling program by collecting and recycling various types of paper products, aluminum cans, and many other metal products. |
