WELCOME!

The University of Tennessee at Martin offers a stimulating and challenging educational experience and an exceptionally beautiful campus. The faculty and staff are committed to the goal of providing a hassle-free stay that is as safe as possible on a campus that offers the opportunity for intellectual growth.

You will also be pleased to know that the Martin community has a low crime rate. The citizens of the area realize UT Martin offers expanded educational, cultural, and health facilities and often are present in large numbers on campus. The campus/community relationship is close and contributes to the Martin community and The University of Tennessee at Martin being rated as the 6th safest college town in the country. Crime at College, the Student Guide to Personal Safety, 1994, by Curtis Ostrnder and Joseph Schwartz, also rated the UT Martin community as the 2nd safest college town in the south and the #1 rated campus community in the state of Tennessee.

The low crime rate continues today. In 2007, UT Martin had the second lowest number of Group A crimes and Index crimes and the highest clearance rate of those reported crimes when compared to other 4-year public insitutions of higher education across the state.

Within the Crime Stats, You and the Law, Crime Prevention Tips, and Procedures links to this web-site, you will find the information required in the Annual Crime Report for the University of Tennessee at Martin as directed by the U.S. Department of Education.
