The BFA in Fine and Performing Arts with an emphasis in Dance Education is one of only two programs with a K-12 Dance Education Licensure Program in the state of Tennessee. We provide students with a comprehensive and rigorous study of dance. Our goal is to service students with a strong foundation in ballet, contemporary, and jazz techniques; a knowledge of dance history from antiquity to global perspectives; choreography and movement theory and a focus of learning the art of teaching dance in schools. Students graduating from this BFA degree program will have had hours of practical knowledge and exploration of teaching, performing, creating, and presenting research in the field of dance.
