Welcome
Welcome to the UT Martin Percussion Studio webpage. On this site you can find important information regarding upcoming events and archives of past events. Current and incoming students can also download text documents including required equipment and repertoire from the UTM Percussion Studies Handbook.
All percussion studio members at UTM become fluent in the standard orchestral instruments and literature of snare drum, mallet keyboard, timpani and accessories; contemporary styles of multiple percussion; jazz and commercial styles of drum set and vibraphone; electronic percussion and computer music applications; global music styles of Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia, India, and more.
Opportunities to gain proficiency in these areas are available through the diverse percussion curriculum at UTM. Individual studio instruction has a “total” percussion approach and is supported by large ensemble experiences that, in addition to traditional and contemporary percussion repertoire, include "world" styles through the Steel band, Brazilian ensemble, African ensemble, Afro-Cuban groups and more.
We hope to see you at some exciting upcoming UTM Percussion Events!!!!
