Amy Underwood Veazey

 

Underwood Veazey was a four-year standout with the Lady Pacer basketball program. She was the first female recipient of an athletic grant-in-aid to the University.

 

She was named the Lady Pacers' Most Valuable Player following her freshman season. She earned a pair of All-Christmas Tournament honors the following two years and was Most Outstanding Player in the Lady Pacers' 1978 Tournament. Underwood-Poteete received the Bettye L. Giles Award in 1980, which is annually presented to the University's top female athlete.
