Eddy Eckert

Eckert established himself as one of the top pitchers in school history.

He pitched a school-record seven shutouts in his career including four consecutive his senior year. Eckert pitched, played the outfield and infield as a freshman and earned all-league honors. He also is the first pitcher to win a Volunteer State Athletic Conference Championship game as the team won the title in 1968. As a senior, he was ranked sixth in the NCAA in strikeouts and was named to the Outstanding College Athletes of America.
