Margaret N. Perry served her alma mater as its chancellor for 11 and one-half years. Among her many accomplishments, she helped guide UT Martin's move into the Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA Division I in 1992.
She was inducted into the OVC Hall of Fame during conference's Honor's Luncheon this past June. Perry was the first UT Martin graduate to serve as chancellor of the university. She was the first woman appointed to head a state-supported university in Tennessee. Perry served as president of the Ohio Valley Conference during the 1997-98 academic year and worked on numerous OVC committees during her tenure at UTM. She also helped lead the athletics program's identity change from Pacers to Skyhawks in 1995.
