Ray Frame entered UT Martin as a freshman football and baseball player in the fall of 1964 and became the first player to receive a full scholarship for baseball the following year. He enjoyed an outstanding career as a pitcher and set several standards for the program.
In his senior year of 1968, he posted a 1.17 earned run average and helped lead the team to a 19-3 record, having a role in 13 of the team's victories. He posted an 8-1 record, and also recorded five saves. His only loss was to NCAA national runner-up Southern Illinois.
