Student Housing Agreement

Upon picking up keys, the student is obligated to live in the residence hall for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) and is further obligated to pay rent for both semesters.

The student agrees to abide by all University and Housing policies as contained in the Student Handbook and the Residence Life Handbook/Calendar.

The student understands that open flames, candles with wicks, scented plug-ins, and incense are not allowed in the residence halls. Cooking is restricted to approved appliances. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

The possession/use of illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages, hazardous material, fire arms, and explosives are prohibited.

Any damage caused by a student could result in civil or criminal action. Students will be financially responsible for any damages to University property.

If the student moves out at the end of fall semester and is still enrolled in school for spring semester, the student will be charged $300.00 to buyout the Housing Agreement. All requests for buyouts must be made prior to December 1. All Housing Agreement buyouts must be approved by the Director of Housing or his/ her designee and the student must have a Housing Residency Requirement Exemption Form approved.

Sophomores are exempt from housing if you have completed 30 hours and have a 2.0 cumulative GPA. If moving out prior to the spring semester your request must still be submitted by December 1 and the $300.00 buyout is still applicable.

Buyout requests made after December 1 will result in the full spring semester charge being applied to the student’s account.

If the buyout is approved, the student must remove all belongings from the room, turn in the keys and properly check out by the last day of exams to avoid the additional Break Housing charge.

The University reserves the right to change a resident’s assignment or cancel the Housing Agreement in extreme circumstance.
