Exchange Professor Akira Tomita
Digital photography professor, Akira Tomita, returned to his home in Hirosaki, Japan after spending one semester at the University of Tennessee at Martin. During this cultural exchange he was excited to meet many American students who were interested in cultural differences of the East and West. Professor Akira recommends that every international student have several important experiences. Making friends from different countries and discovering something outside of the classroom that ignites one's interest will make each student learn better and more valuable lessons that will last a lifetime. He also believes that language will not be an obstacle for your study if you have confidence in yourself. It has been a joy to work with Professor Akira and TIEP wishes his the best for the future.
