TRANSPORTATION

Students will be provided transportation from the Memphis International Airport to UT Martin free of charge ONLY on the days specified.  Students must send arrival information including exact day and hour or arrival, airline and flight number. Students who do not arrive on the pickup date will have to pay a transportation fee and/or may need to spend the night at the Skyport Hotel located inside the airport building.

ORIENTATION

New students will be given a two-day orientation program consisting of English placement testing, visits to a bank and shopping center, discussions on U.S. Immigration regulations, University and Tennessee Intensive English Program policies, and cultural adjustment.  Students will also be given assistance with filling out health forms, insurance forms, registration and payment of fees, and having student identification cards made.  A tour of the campus will also be included.

TOEFL EXAMINATION

The TOEFL administered by the Tennessee Intensive English Program is an "Institutional" TOEFL.  Tests are hand scored by TIEP staff before being sent off to Educational Testing Service for machine scoring.  This enables students, on the same day of the test, to know if they have the scores necessary for admission to the University.

IEP Application Fee: $250 = $50 application fee (one-time only) + $100 deposit for 1st term + $100 for university housing (not necessary if you intend to live off campus)

TUITION: $1141.50 per 4 weeks (mid-term entry for new students); $2283 per 8 week term

UTM FACILITIES FEE: included in tuition above

HOUSING: Single Students: $1000 to $1485 per semester (2 terms) or $500 to $743 per term in dormitories
For less than 8 weeks the dormitory cost is $8.85/day with a roommate or $13.14 for a private room.
Married Students: $300 to $550/month in university apartments
FOOD: $320 to $490 monthly per person
BOOKS & SCHOOL SUPPLIES: $140 to $220.00 per term
MEDICAL INSURANCE: approximately $687 per year ($58 per month)

The following are estimates in US dollars. Your total cost will depend on how and where you live, what you eat and what you do after class.

Four Weeks (one-half term) of Intensive English: $2,500 to $2,990

Eight Weeks (one full term) of Intensive English: $3,800 to $4,200

Two Terms (one semester) of Intensive English: $7,700 to $10,000
