International Programs – Conditional I-20 and University Admission

All students who are accepted for the Intensive English Program will be given a Conditional I-20. To attain full admission to the University of Tennessee at Martin, an undergraduate student must study intensive English until achieving a TOEFL score of 61/500 (ibt/paper-based test) or successfully completing all levels of TIEP, while a graduate student must achieve a TOEFL score of 71/525 and fulfill requirements such as the GMAT, etc. before taking regular university courses.

To be admitted to the TIEP, a student is preferably a high-school or university graduate with a 'C'  or above average or is with a family member attending TIEP or UT Martin, submitt documents of financial support and have valid travel documents. The Conditional I-20 is granted after the Office of International Programs receives a student's completed application (print application now) and then issues the Conditional I-20 which the student must then take to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate along with the necessary documents required to get a visa. Call the nearest U.S. Embassy for local requirements.
