Şartlı I-20 & Üniversitesi Kabul

Yoğunlaştırımiş İngilizce programına kabul edilen bütün öğrencilere şartlı I-20 ve geçici kabul verilmiş olacak. University of Tennessee at Martin'e girebilmek için geçici kabul döneminde bir üniversite öğrencisi, TOEFL skoru 61/173/500 (Bilgisar/kağıt-merkezi test) puan alana kadar yoğunlaştırımiş İngilizce görmelidir; veya başarılı bir şekilde TIEP'nin bütün levellerini tamamlamalıdır Öğrencisi düzenli Üniversite dursuna başlamadan önce, bir ihtisas yapon öğrenciyken TOEFL'dan 71/197/525 puan almak zorundadir. TIEP'ye kabul edilmiş bir lise mezunu öğrencisinin ortalamasi'enaz "C" olmak zorundadir.

Finansl'kaynağını ve geçerli seyehatını beyan eden belgeleri göstermelidir. Uluslararası programlar ofisi, öğrencinin tamamlanmiş başvuru belgeini teslim aldiktan sonra geçici kabul verir. ( Başvuru formu için şimdi tıkla ) ve öğrenci şartli kabul ve I-20'si ile birlikte gerekli dokumanlarını da alarak birleşik devletler elçiligine veya konsolosluğuna gitmelidir. ESL Sınıfları & Amerikan Ortak Konuşma Programı

ESL sınıflarının ortalama büyüklüğü oransal olarak her 8 öğrenciye bir tam zamanlı profosyenel eğitmen düşecek şekilde olup, ortalama 12 'şer kişiliktir. Bu sebeple, yakın ve kişisel ilgi, gerek IEP programının, gerekse herbir öğrencinin başarılarının anahtarıdır. Kampusümüzde 30 değişik ülkeden 200 'den fazla öğrenci bulunmaktadır.

Curriculum & Courses

The IEP offers six levels of instruction with an average of 23 hours of classroom instruction each week. Students are tested to determine what English Language skills they already possess, in listening comprehension, grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary , and speaking so that they can begin their instruction at an appropriately challenging level. Each term lasts approximately 8 weeks. Although mid-term entry is possible, we recommend coming at the beginning of each eight-week term. (See Current Calendar )

Elective Courses

In addition to the courses in Listening, Reading, Writing, Grammar, and University Preparation (Academic Skills and Critical Listening ) there are elective courses which vary from term to term including: TOEFL Preparation, American Folklore, U.S. History, American Music, Pronunciation, English with Computers & the Internet, etc.

Amerikalı Öğrencilerle Sohbet Programı

Seviyeleri 4 ve 6 arasındoki yoğunlaştırımiş İngilizce programı öğrencileri olan listening sınıfı yeni birşeyler yapıyor. TIEP öğretmenlerinden olan Judy Cleek and Glen Byrd'ün yardımlarıyla İşbirlikçi Amerikalı öğrencilere dözenli öğretim programı kursları University of Tennessee at Martin'de yardımaktadır. Uluslararası ve Amerikali öğrenciler olmak üzere her ikisine de sunulan program ve bazı faydalı, karşılıklı kültür bilgisi elde etmelerini hazırlar katıkukriğin. Pizza partisinde herkes partneriyle buluşur. Semestir süresi boyunca öğrenciler periyodik olarak buluşmalara devam eder.

Fakülte, Personel, & Adnişmanlar (fotoğraflar için tikla)

Herbir öğrenciyle yakınden ilgilenip birlikte çalişan deneyimlive profesyonel öğretmenlerin hepsi aralıksız çalişan ESL öğretmenleridir. Yarım gün çalişan öğretmen veya öğretim yardması yoktur. Herzaman faydalı, arkadaşça ve profesyonel personel üyeleri uluslararası merkezinde Uluslarsı Programlar Ofisi. Personellerimiz uzunydlar iş deneyimine sahietir uluslararası öğrencilere yardım. Dışarıden doldurulacak formlara yardım eder, telefonla ararlar, mail kabul ve drekt öğrencilere neye ihtiyaçları olacağını söylereler. Bütün servisler uluslararası öğrenciler için bir merkezi ofis tarafından sağlanır. Posta veya e-mail yoluyla herhangı biriyle bağlantı kurulabilir.

Danşman öğretmenler

Her dönem, meycut fakülte üyeleri akademik kuruluşlarla veya her personelle öğrencilere yardım eder. Uluslararası programler müdürü uabarcı öğrencilerin danişmani gibi visa ve göcmenlikle ilgili kurallan, tıbbi ve yasal problemler, ve UT Martin veya diğer kollej veya üniversiteye girmeleri için hizmet verir.

Havaalanında Karşılama/Konaklama

Eğer belirlenmiş bir tarihte kabul mektubula varırsaniz Üniversite personeli tarafından size eşlik edilecektir. Öğrenci Memphis Tennessee havalanda katşılanmi olacak. Öğrenci kalacağı yurduna yerleştirilecektir. ( Geçerli takuime bakınız )

Öğrenci yatakhaneleri kampüs içincle olup, yürüyerek bütün ESL sınıflarına ve yemekhanelere 5 dak. içinde ulaşabilir. Birkaç farklı yemek yiye bileceğiniz değişik mekanlar bulabilirsiniz. Yurda sadece 10 dak. mesafede.

Yurtlarda çameşırhane, hobi odası ve televizyon odansından faydalunabilirsiniz. Ayrıca mutfak, kablolu TV, internet bağlantılarından faydalunabilirsiniz. Yurtlarda ailenizle ve büyük öğrencilerle seçkin bir yaşam sürebilirsiniz.

21st Century Facilities

The University maintains several state-of-the-art computer labs on campus. Complete Internet capabilities are accessible to all UTM and TIEP students as well as the latest computer facilities. Each dormitory room and university apartment are equipped with a connection offering over 40 cable TV channels and an Internet connection for students with their own computers. The recently completed library is fully automated and library information is available in the library, in the computer labs, and directly on student computers connected to the Internet.

There are superb sports facilities on campus which include a large number of tennis courts, ball fields, jogging trails, an olympic-sized swimming pool, racquetball courts, basketball courts, etc.

Social Activities/American Host Family Program

Each quarter students in the Intensive English Program have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of social activities including trips to American cities, informal coffee hours, welcome parties, sporting events, rock concerts, live theater productions, shopping trips, camping, clubs and other recreational activities.

In the Host Family Program students can spend a weekend with local American families, giving them a unique opportunity to learn about American lifestyles and culture firsthand and to share and exchange their own ideas and culture. Certain holidays may permit staying with a family in another city. However, the Host Family Program is not a substitute for living in a dormitory, apartment, etc.

Full Association with the University of Tennessee

The University of Tennessee at Martin is one of four campuses of this major American state university. The Intensive English Program is administered by the University of Tennessee at Martin; therefore all academically qualified students admitted to the Intensive English Program are automatically accepted into the University after achieving a score of 61/173/500 (ibt/computer-based test/paper-based test) on the TOEFL (71/197/525 for graduate students)

The University of Tennessee at Martin Intensive English Program is a member of the University Consortia of Intensive English Language Programs which is limited to the 40 best programs in the U.S. It is also a member of the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs, the American Association of Intensive English Programs, and the Institute for International Education.

The university conducts language and cultural training programs overseas for the US government and has continuing exchange programs and joint research projects with universities in Japan, Korea, Brazil, and Ecuador.

Central Office of International Programs

The Director, Associate Director and the office staff of International Programs provide full-time assistance to international students with immigration paperwork, travel reservations, medical or legal problems, and application for admittance to graduate and undergraduate university programs. International Programs services are in one centralized location on campus where students can receive mail and assistance of all kinds from the professional and experienced staff. Beautiful & Award Winning Campus

The University campus is magnificently landscaped and won the Grand Prize in a national competition run by the Professional Grounds Management Society. The buildings surround many varieties of trees and flower gardens typical to the state of Tennessee. Walkways through natural surroundings put everything within relaxing walking or bicycling distance. With over 5,000 students the University remains a tranquil place.

The University has the most modern facilities including an automated state of the art library, computer/fiber optic cable connections in university housing, superb sporting facilities such as a jogging/exercise trail, indoor Olympic swimming pool, tennis/racquetball/basketball courts, weight-lifting rooms, etc.

The University provides the essentials for a full, well rounded academic and social life. There are sports and recreation, live performances, fraternity and sorority parties as well as opportunities for actual socializing. Off campus, there's shopping, dining out, and at the nearby Kentucky Lake and Reelfoot Lake, there's boating, fishing, and camping.

A Quiet, Peaceful City

The University of Tennessee at Martin is located in northwest Tennessee. The University of Tennessee at Martin was recently ranked as the safest in the state and the sixth safest in the United States according to FBI figures. Martin is a typical American town with traditional American values where students can experience American culture first hand. It is a town where students can live and learn free from big city anxieties frustrations and indifference that can often overwhelm the new comer to the United States.

Nearly everything in town is close to dormitories and university apartments. Classes, banking, shopping, restaurants, laundry, sports facilities, etc. are accessible on foot or bicycle.

Orientation

All international students participate in a two day orientation and welcome program beginning the morning after arrival. Following a welcome reception with IEP administrators,teachers, and staff, the new students learn how to open a local bank account and are later escorted to a bank and department store after a walking tour of campus.

Students are tested to determine what level of English instruction will best challenge each individual. American classroom customs and academic topics are covered before students fill in health insurance forms (All students must have proof of health insurance) to obtain health insurance coverage in the U.S.

The final orientation sessions cover American customs, food, cars & insurance, US Immigration laws, cultural adjustment, ID cards, etc.
