Orientation
All international students participate in a two day orientation and welcome program beginning the morning after arrival. Following a welcome reception with IEP administrators,teachers, and staff, the new students learn how to open a local bank account and are later escorted to a bank and department store after a walking tour of campus.
Students are tested to determine what level of English instruction will best challenge each individual. American classroom customs and academic topics are covered before students fill in health insurance forms (All students must have proof of health insurance) to obtain health insurance coverage in the U.S.
The final orientation sessions cover American customs, food, cars & insurance, US Immigration laws, cultural adjustment, ID cards, etc. |
