What is my e-mail address?
Students:
An e-mail address is of the following format: username@hostname. A student e-mail address is generally the first three letters of your first name, your middle initial, and the first four letters of your last name, followed by @utm.edu. Example: John Q. Smith, johqsmit@utm.edu
If your username does not work for you, call us at 7900 and we'll look it up for you.
Faculty/Staff:
As a general rule, your e-mail address is your username@utm.edu. For faculty and staff the username is usually just your first initial + your last name typed together in lowercase letters with no spaces. Example: Martha Stuart's e-mail address would be mstuart@utm.edu. If your username does not work for you, call us at 7900 and we'll look it up for you. Some faculty and staff on campus share initials and last names, so sometimes we have to vary usernames from the standard format.

How do I print in the Computer Labs?
To print in the labs, you must have a Skyhawk Card. The technology fee provides students with an allocated amount of money on their Skyhawk card for printing. For example, students will receive approximately 100 pages of black and white printing per semester. After you have reached this limit, a printing charge of $.08 per b/w copy or $.25 per color copy will come out of the Silver (or general) account on your card. Money can be placed on your account by using the automated vending machines located in the H117 Computer Lab, the first floor of the Library, or at Skyhawk Card Services on the second floor of the University Center. Simply follow the instructions given by the machine.
Once you are ready to print a document, send it to the printer via the program's print command or button. Here you may choose a black and white laser printer or a color printer (located in Humanities 117). Simply click on the drop down arrow to the right side of the printer name to select a different printer. Verify the number of pages you are printing and click OK. Swipe your Skyhawk Card on the keyboard located by the printer. A list of print jobs should come up that have your user name listed along with the number of pages. Select your document(s) from the list and click on the PRINT button on the screen.

What do I do if my computer totally freezes up?
If your computer freezes up and it does not respond to anything you do at all, your best bet is to turn off the computer and turn it back on again. You may have to wait about 10 minutes or so to log back on so that the system can boot you out of the network.

How do I print from a Wireless Network?
- If you have a laptop running Windows 2000 or higher, Mac OSX, and an 802.11b NIC you can print over the wireless network to any of the Pharos printers.
- The SSID for the UTM wireless network is romulus.
- Once you have connected to romulus log into blue socket for wireless access (to do this just open Internet Explorer and the blue socket page should load)
- Go to http://wirelessprint/uniprint/. Click on “Packages” and choose the printer location. You can save the installer to your desktop or run it from the current location. After saving to the desktop, double-click on the print installer file to open. Choose install and then finish. The new printer will show up in your printer list.
- Just swipe your ID card at the pharos station and print your document.
- The printer will remain installed on your computer unless you remove it, however remember that you must authenticate through blue socket each time you use the wireless network or you will not be able to print.
- The services provided by Information Technology Services are in place to provide a flexible infrastructure to meet the rapidly changing needs for instruction, all types of learning, research, and administrative functions.
