Will Hammond - Review #1

Web Site: http://www.eurunion.org/infores/euindex.htm

1. What is the scope of the site.
1. The scope of this site consisted of several links from A to Z of sites containing information on every aspect of the European Union. Links to hundreds of sites are listed in alphabetical order from A to Z. This site is easy to navigate as well by giving you  the option of selecting a certain letter and it will take you directly to every link starting with said letter.

2. Who are the sites authors? (person, institution)
2. The site itself does not give credit to the author, but does state that the material on this site is copyright of the E.U. with all rights reserved, which can lead one to believe that the site is from a creditable source. This site is maintained on the E.U.’s address, which could also answer the question of creditability.

3. What category does the site fit in (what type of information are you getting from that site)?
3. This site could be classified as a reference page, the page it’s does not give much information besides the links to other sites on certain topics which are relevant to the E.U.

4. What is its focus: American, non-Western, etc., time-period or general
4. The focus of this web site is the European Union and links concerning issues and topics that deal with the E.U. directly.

5. Rate the information contained in the site:
5. The links that are contained in this site are presented in an accurate and current manner. The information you will find will be presented in an alphabetical list covering topics from A to Z with well over a hundred links to various sites that contain information on several issues and topics. The criteria for including a link is not listed on the site, although the site seems to very well researched. This site is a great tool for finding information on various topics that concern the European Union.

6. Rate the site:
6. The information on this site seems to stable through time or at least as long as the E.U. is still in existence. Though the site does not say when it was last updated you get a feeling that is maintained on a consistence basis, with new and current topics being added and dead links removed.

7. How does this site relate to the course you are currently taking?  How helpful/not helpful is it?  Would you recommend it to other students?
7. This site would be a great help to anyone doing research on the European Union, or any issue related to European affairs. I would recommend this to anyone looking for information on European political issues.

8. Write a brief narrative summary of the site.  What courses and kinds of research would this site be most useful for?
8. Although this site itself did not present much information the links it provides contain a plethora of links to sites that contain information which could be useful in a number of different fields of study including history, political science, and a variety of different fields.
