Brad Smith, Executive Director Brad is a Rhodes Scholar from Knoxville who has worked on education policy with the Brooking's Institute and research centers at Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford universities. He has also worked on several statewide campaigns in Tennessee and in the White House Office of Political Affairs. Working with Senator Frist over the past year, Brad has conducted over 70 formal interviews with national education reform leaders including Michelle Rhee, Joel Klein, and Wendy Kopp. Brad oversees SCORE's operations and activities.
Alene Arnold, Director of Statewide Operations Alene most recently worked as Associate Director for Alignment Nashville, planning and coordinating strategic community involvement in Metro Nashville Public Schools. She has served on many task forces in support of education including the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce School Report Card Committee, the Mayor's Task Force for Student Success and the MNPS School Board's Student Assignment Task Force. Alene has a Masters Degree in Education from Peabody College and a Masters of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School. She is also the mother of four MNPS students. Alene leads SCORE's grassroots and outreach efforts across the state. Alene began her career as a 7th grade math and English teacher in Sumner County Tennessee Schools.
