Issues to consider prior to applying

Is my employer paying for my MBA wherein there is a maximum number of hours I can take per term? This is common; many firms will only pay for 1 course/term. This doesn’t necessarily have to impact your options, but the MBA office needs to know upon admission if this is a situation that applies to you. Pacing students slower than the cohort schedules is possible, but ideally, we would be able to account for this upon admission as there is a cap to the cohort size admitted.

Can I miss Hybrid classes as I may have missed my undergrad class meetings? In short, no. Class meetings are required. We do allow 1 pre-approved by professor, relevant excused absence per term. Appropriate paperwork, documentation and pre-approval is required.

Is there a course that I substantially dread? Sometimes, students who aren’t particularly great in an area, dread that course(s). Remember, if you are admitted, then all evidence points to your capability to succeed in the MBA program. Let your professor know before-hand and work with them and your classmates to set yourself up for success.

Can I take an International Travel Study for 3 hours credit in both the Hybrid and Online options? Absolutely! It will substitute for one of your elective courses. Travel study options (typically 1 per year) will be announced by MBA GA as they occur.

Are there different application materials for the 2 options? Yes. Please see website for info on Hybrid option application steps: http://www.utm.edu/departments/mba/mba.php and online option application steps: http://www.utm.edu/departments/mba/online_mba.php

Is there a cost difference between the 2 options? Minimal. There is a nominal fee difference in the 2 options (per 2016-2017 costs for in-state students: there is an $11/hour premium for online option over Hybrid)—info can be found at http://www.utm.edu/departments/bursar/tuition.php
