Monday, October 24, 2005 - "Challenges and Opportunities for the 21st Century Community"
Justice Alan Page is an Associate Justice of the Minnesota State Supreme Court. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Minnesota Law School, he was the Assistant Attorney General of the state of Minnesota before becoming the first African-American to serve upon the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1993. Previously, he was an All-American football player at Notre Dame and the anchor of the "Purple People Eaters" defensive unit of the Minnesota Vikings during the 1970s. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In addition to his legal and athletic accomplishments, Justice Page is the recipient of numerous humanitarian awards. In addition to lecturing on a wide variety of legal and judicial issues, Justice Page is a compelling speaker on creating opportunities and mentoring for underprivileged children. He will speak on "Challenges and Opportunities for the 21st Century Community" on Monday, October 24 at 7:30 PM in the Elam Center.
