Lawrence A. Taylor, April 2 , 2006
Lawrence A. Taylor is Distinguished Professor of Earth & Planetary Sciences and Director of the Planetary Geosciences Institute at the University of Tennessee . Dr. Taylor has been active in the study of lunar samples, since the first moon rocks were brought to earth by the crew of Apollo 11. He has served on numerous NASA committees and has advised several of the Apollo missions, and is currently advising NASA on the planning for projected missions to the Moon and to Mars. He has published over 350 articles, papers, and essays, and is the editor of the International Geology Review . He will speak on Diamonds: Time Capsules from Long Ago and Far Away on Monday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Watkins Auditorium of the Boling University Center.
