| Black Student Association & NAACP — Mission
The mission of the University of Tennessee at Martin Black Student Association (BSA) along with the National Association of Colored People (NAACP) is to foster a better relationship among students, administration, faculty and staff. It seeks to encourage greater participation on the part of traditionally underrepresented groups in school activities and secure representation in all phases of campus life. Furthermore, the Black Student Association and the NAACP seek to prove a comfortable atmosphere and serve as a focal point and information center for African-American students on the UTM campus. In order to successfully execute these tasks, the Black Student Association and the NAACP remain focused on the needs and wants of African-Americans on the UTM campus.
