LCD Trio

The LCD Faculty Woodwind Trio consists of Charles Lewis (flute), Liz Aleksander (clarinet), and Doug Owens (oboe, bassoon, and saxophone). Formed in 2013, the ensemble seeks to inspire audiences of all ages through performances and master classes, as well as to promote flute/clarinet/saxophone trios through commissioning, performing, and recording. LCD has appeared at several notable conventions, including the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest, the Mid-South Flute Festival, and the College Music Society Southern Regional Conference. They have also performed visiting artist recitals at Rhodes College, Amro Music, and over 25 elementary, middle, and high schools in Tennessee and Kentucky, and they frequently collaborate with other musicians at UT-Martin and throughout west Tennessee. Their commissions include works from Sy Brandon, Cody Curtis, Andy Isca, Michael Mathenia, Daniel Musselman, Joshua Spaulding, and Josiah Sprankle.
