The UTM Department of Music's program in Music Education functions under the basic premise that all students served by our graduates are entitled to the best instruction in music.  Students in the program exhibit qualities of leadership, imagination, and enthusiasm for teaching music, are service-minded and possess an intellectual curiosity. These are evidenced by the academic and social behaviors of the prospective teacher in life, both in and out of the university environment, further characterized by the individual's pursuit of musical and academic excellence, in addition to the active dedication to the improvement of the quality of life.
