Music Education - Service Learning

One of the values of the Music Education Professional Program at UTM is “that every music teacher should be fully committed to the subject of music and its use with all people; the poor; ethnic minorities; rural, suburban, and inner-city children; the handicapped; and the highly gifted.”

Our students are highly involved in service activities throughout the community.  Students freely share their gifts and talents in a variety of ways:

• Martin Children’s Choir
• Martin Housing Authority After School Program
• Providing music for hospice patients
• Assisting in public school music programs
• Performing at community and university events
