Nursing - Description of the BSN Pin

The scroll reflects four years of nursing education and encourages continuing education. The lamp represents hope for those in need just as Florence Nightingale used it to search for ill and wounded soldiers. The caduceus which rests upon the "N" represents nurses' critical role within the health care system. The three C's symbolize the caring, compassion, and commitment of the nurse who assists individuals, families, and groups in maintaining optimal levels of health. The shield provides the basic foundation for strength and endurance necessary to work toward the common goal of wholistic nursing.
