Director of Physical Plant Operations


Tim Nipp-Tim is a graduate of The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He obtained his Masters Degree of Science in Engineering from the University of Arkansas and is a Professional Engineer licensed in Tennessee, Tim began as Assistant Physical Plant Director in April of 1995 and has since advanced to Director of Physical Plant Operations. He is responsible for all the Physical Plant Operations. Among many accomplishments during his tenure, Tim was recently awarded Employee of the 2008 Fall Semester at the Chancellor's Coffee.


Director of Building Services


Brad Burkett-Brad is a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering. Brad began as Building Services Manager and Associate Director of the Physical Plant in April 2004 after extensive work in electrical engineering. As Building Services Manager, he is responsible for the carpentry, paint/sign, key, electrical and plumbing shops. He also contributes to the workings of the Physical Plant by doing electrical design of lighting projects for UTM.


Custodial Manager


Dennis Kosta-Dennis began as a custodian on the night shift in August 1986 working in the Administration Building. After 3 short months, he became assistant foreman. After only 1 year, he became lead foreman for the night shift. After 3 years as night shift foreman, Dennis moved to day shift foreman. He worked in this capacity until August 1997 when he became the Physical Plant Custodial Manager. Since becoming custodial manager for the Physical Plant, Dennis has birthed a Recycling Program that is unmatched in our area. He currently manages 45 employees that work all hours of the day and night in order to maintain an ever growing campus.


Business Manager


Rebecca Baker- Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lambuth University and her Masters in Business Administration from UTM. She began her tenure here in August 1998 working in various accounting positions on campus until accepting the full time position as Business Manager of the Physical Plant in April 1999. She is also a member of IAAP. Rebecca works with budgets, facilities inventory, local capital outlay and various other accounting reporting and responsibilities. In 2007, she was recognized for Employee of the Month of the Physical Plant.


Administrative Support Assistant III


Kathy Wiley-Kathy began with UTM in June of 1978 as dispatcher for the Physical Plant. Over the years she has worked with the HVAC department as well as in other capacities for the Physical Plant. Currently, she is an Administrative Support Assistant for the Physical Plant working with the Director. Her duties include work orders, billing, TMA, & Iris. She is also responsible for the student workers that help with receiving of calls and dispatching work orders. Kathy received a certificate in secretarial from the McKenzie Vocational School and during her time here at UTM has received the Employee of the Semester for Fall 1994. She also completed certification as a Professional Secretary in November 2005. Kathy has been recognized on several occasions as the Physical Plant Employee of the Month.


Accounting Assistant III


Jerris Kosta-Jerris began her years at UTM working for Marriott Foods in 1988. In March of 1994, she took a position as housekeeper at the Chancellor's Residence on campus. In December 2002, Jerris began working at the Physical Plant as an Accounting Clerk, which was later changed to Accounting Assistant III. Jerris completed certification as a Professional Secretary in May 2005 and has also had training in Information Systems here at UTM. She is a member of IAAP. Her responsibilities at the Physical Plant include employee payroll, requisitions, and accounts payable. Jerris has also been recognized as a Physical Plant employee of the month.


Accounting Assistant II


Tracie Stewart -In May 1992, Tracie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administrative Service from UTM. Shortly after receiving her degree, she began working at the Physical Plant in the position of Accounts Payable and Receivable. Her title has since changed to Accounting Assistant II. In 1997, Tracie completed training as a Certified Personal Secretary. Her tasks include accounts receivable and accounts payable, reconciling campus utility ledgers, work order transfer vouchers, capital project transfer vouchers, monthly EPA reports, and reconciling procurement cards, just to name a few. Tracie has also been recognized as an employee of the month by her peers.


Project Coordinator


Dana Hagan-Dana began work at the Physical Plant in April of 2006 in a temporary capacity as a project coordinator. She is a 1994 UTM graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology, emphasis in Civil Engineering. In July 2009, she accepted the full time position of project coordinator. She is nearing completion of a Masters Degree in Engineering Management through UT. Her job duties include coordination of local and capital projects, relocation of campus departments for capital projects, writing and reviewing bid specifications, Autocad drawings and layouts, campus site map for utilities, project punch lists and warranty lists, scheduling of projects and contractors, as well as monitoring daily work orders. Dana has been recognized as Employee of the Month for the Physical Plant.


Recycle Coordinator


Mike Davis (Jr)-We have a new recycle coordinator, Mike to lead in the overwhelming recycling task for the campus. Mike has been with the University for 20 years, first as a student/student worker and then as a steam plant employee. He accepted this new position in February 2012.


Transportation Supervisor


Mike Travis-The Motor Pool is led by Mike Travis and has the responsibility of maintaining the UTM fleet of vehicles. He and his team clean and maintain all the campus vehicles as well as grounds equipment. He has 3 full time personnel and several students to assist in this vast undertaking. The Motor pool has recently hired an administrative assistant to help move them to a more automated system.
