Category I: Piano Solo, High School Grades 10 through 12
Category II: Piano Solo, Grades 7 through 9
Category III: The Elaine Harriss Elementary Competition (Piano Solo through Grade 6)
Category IV: The Allison Nelson Piano Ensemble Competition (any combination of players for 1 or 2 pianos through Grade 12)
Previous first-place winners are ineligible to enter the same category the following year.
Each contestant/ensemble will perform a maximum of two contrasting works from the standard piano repertoire (no arrangements), not to exceed a total of 15 minutes. Individual movements of larger works will be accepted. Solo works are to be performed from memory; ensemble players may use music. No unauthorized photocopies are allowed.
Category I - First place $ 300 | Second place $150
Category II - First place $ 150 | Second place $100
Category III - First place $ 150 | Second place $100
Category IV - First place$ 150
All entrants will receive a certificate and a copy of the judge’s evaluation.
In addition to the prizes above, first place winners are eligible for a $12,000 Chancellor’s Music Scholarship, second place winners for a $6,000 Honors Music Scholarship. All graduating seniors performing successfully in the competition will be offered a minimum $4,000 music scholarship. Scholarships are subject to UTM regulations.

Completed applications must be made and entry fee received by March 7, 2019. Confirmation of application and fee will be sent to the email address(s) on the application. Contact Dr. Harriss (email@example.com or 731-881-7411) if you do not receive electronic confirmation by March 9. The competition schedule will be emailed by March 12.
Unless otherwise noted, all performances are in the Blankenship Recital Hall, located on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building.
