Piano Recital Requirements

Students in a music education degree are required to present a senior recital. Music education majors must have completed a minimum of six semesters of applied, the last two of which must have been upper division. These recitals must contain a minimum of 30 minutes of music. An ensemble piece may be part of the program.

 

Students in piano pedagogy degrees are required to present a senior recital. They must have completed a minimum of seven semesters of applied, the last three of which must have been upper division. These recitals should contain a minimum of 45 minutes of music. An ensemble piece may be part of the program.

 

Students in piano performance degrees are required to present a junior and a senior recital. For the junior recital, they must have completed a minimum of five semesters of applied, the last one of which must have been upper division. For the senior recital, they must have completed a minimum of seven semesters of applied, the last three of which must have been upper division. These recitals should contain a minimum of 45 minutes of music, and may contain an ensemble piece.
