Students who make 21 or below on the ACT reading subscore are the main audience for Reading 100, but any student who wants to improve his or her reading may take the course as an elective.
There is an entrance test which is given on the first day of class to determine your reading "grade" level. Another version of the test is given as an exit exam.
The student remains in Reading 100. If a student scores at college level, he is encouraged to take another course.
The Reading Center Graduate Teaching Assistants will schedule a time to assist you individually or in small groups during their office hours.
Our objective is to increase two grade levels minimum during one semester's timespan. This objective is challenging, but achievable.
