Who is eligible for Reading Center classes?

Students who make 20 or below on the ACT are the main audience for Reading 100, but any student who wants to improve his reading may take the course as an elective.

Is there an entrance test?

There is an entrance test which is given on the first day of class to determine your reading "grade" level. Another version of the test is given as an exit exam.

What happens if a student scores at high school level or below?

The student remains in Reading 100. If a student scores at college level, he is encouraged to take another course.

What if I need extra help in Reading?

The Reading Center Graduate Teaching Assistants will schedule a time to assist you individually or in small groups during their office hours.

How much can I expect to improve my reading level in one semester?

Our objective is to increase two grade levels minimum during one semester's timespan. This objective is challenging, but achievable.
