What is the purpose of Student Health?
Student Health Services at the University of Tennessee at Martin is designed to provide students with continuous health care throughout their enrollment. A major goal is to help students develop a greater sense of responsibility to themselves and others by establishing good health care and habits. By helping students maintain a state of good health, we hope to promote their intellectual and social development.

What services does Student Health Services provide?
To be eligible for services, one must be enrolled in classes during that semester. Services include general outpatient care, first aid care, limited laboratory services, vaccines, physicals, STD screening, administration of allergy shots, and educational programs.

How do I make an appointment?
Appointments are necessary to see the clinician. Call Student Health on the day you wish to see the clinician. Emergencies will be seen at any time. If a student walks in without an appointment, he will be worked in after scheduled appointments are seen if any remain open.

Do I need health insurance?

Insurance coverage is strongly recommended for students. Information on a student health insurance policy underwritten by an independent agent is available in Student Health.

However, the student is responsible for lab fees ($3.00 - $10.00), medication injections ($5.00 - $40.00), vaccines ($5.00 - $35.00), perscription medication ($5.00 - $15.00), physicals ($15.00), and supplies (varies).
