Welcome to the UT Martin String Studio where we strive for student success in both Classical and Alternative styles of music and musicianship! Our primary goal is to prepare students for whatever their future may have in store for them as a musician, whether as a professional performer, as an educator, or as a hobbyist. UTM is extremely proud to offer study opportunities on a wide variety of instruments from violin, viola, cello, and double bass to guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, and cavaquinho! The UTM String Studio is open to the entire student body, extending beyond the confines of the music major or minor.
The philosophy of the UTM String faculty is to empower students to tap into their full potential as musicians and citizens. The goal is to best equip students for when opportunity presents itself.
Students within the String Studio become skilled through one-on-one lessons, studio and public performances, and participation in ensembles throughout the University. Current string players perform in a variety of combinations in Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Jazz Band, Contemporary Music Group, and numerous others.
We hope to see you at UTM soon whether you are here to attend a concert, for a trial lesson, or to study Music full or part time! If you have any questions at all about our studio, please do not hesitate to email any of us. Thanks for stopping by!
Unless otherwise noted, all performances are in the Blankenship Recital Hall, located on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building.
