The student must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be completed electronically, via FAFSA on the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov ,or by paper application. Paper applications are available in the Financial Aid Office, through the High school guidance Counselor, or by calling 1-800-4 fed-aid. . UT-Martin’s School code is 003531 and must be entered on the FAFSA in order for UTM to receive the need analysis results.  Students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA on the web since it is virtually error proof and the processing time is much quicker. All students who complete the FAFSA by March 1 and complete the verification process will be given priority for campus based funds. These funds include the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Federal Perkins Loan. The FAFSA must be completed every year.
