GRE Testing Information

 

The Graduate Record Examination, also known as the GRE, (required for graduate program admission) is a 4 hour exam offered several times each month. 

 

REGISTRATION: Please call 731.881.7727, go by 211 Clement Hall, or register online at www.ets.org/gre 

 

COST: $140 payable to ETS by credit card or check.

*For the Issue task, two essay topics are presented and you choose one.  For the Argument task, one topic is presented.

           

The Analytical Writing section is always first.  The Verbal and Quantitative sections may appear in any order. In addition, one unidentified unscored section may be included in any position in the test.  These questions are being tested for future use and will not count toward your scores.

 

RETESTING: You may retest once per calendar month up to 5 times in a 12-month period.


RESCHEDULING: You must reschedule 10 full days before original appointment date.  There is a $50 rescheduling fee. Call the GRE Program at 1-800-473-2255.

 
CANCELLING: You must cancel 10 full days before original appointment date to receive a partial refund of your test fee (one-half of original test fee).  Call the GRE Program at 1-800-473-2255.
