Martin, Tennessee - Students in several West Tennessee counties are invited to learn more about the University of Tennessee at Martin at an informal reception from 6:30 -8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, 200 South Second Street, in Clarksville.
Students, parents and friends from Montgomery, Stewart, Houston, Dickson, Cheatham, Humphreys and Robertson counties are invited to the reception. They can talk about college plans with representatives from admissions, financial aid, housing, ROTC, athletics, employment information, honors programs and academic departments.
Judy Rayburn, director of admissions at UT Martin, said attending the UT Martin Night reception is almost like coming to campus. "We certainly encourage students to come and visit us at Martin, but we will have representatives at the reception from all the academic areas, from financial aid, from housing, athletics and ROTC," she said.
In addition to potential students, UT Martin alumni are also invited to attend the event. "About 800 alumni from the Clarksville region have been invited to the UT Martin Night reception," said Jacky Gullett, director for alumni affairs at UT Martin. "It's a good way for alumni to visit with each other, and it also gives them a chance to help us recruit students."
