Bluegrass Legend Ralph Stanley Coming To UT Martin April 7th
Martin, Tennessee - The "Man of Constant Sorrow" is coming to the University of Tennessee at Martin. Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys will perform a 2:30 p.m. concert, Sunday, April 7, in the university's Skyhawk Fieldhouse. The concert is sponsored in part by the UT Martin Office of Student Life.
Stanley, who has performed bluegrass music since 1946, won Grammys this year for Best Male Country Performance and Album of the Year for his contributions to the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack album. Stanley has recorded more than 150 albums, received nine Grammy nominations, and was the first person asked to join the Grand Ole Opry in the new millennium.
Tickets are $10 for UT Martin students and $12 general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the Boling University Center Information Desk or with a credit card by calling 731 881-7757.
