
MARTIN, Tenn. – The West Tennessee Non-Profit Conference scheduled Thursday, March 21, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital will work to promote the development and success of all non-profit organizations in fundraising, legality issues and start-ups throughout the West Tennessee region. The conference is sponsored by the University of Tennessee at Martin WestStar Leadership Program.
Registration for the conference will begin at 8 a.m. in the J. Walter Barnes Conference Center. James Ross, vice president of West Tennessee Healthcare, along with Dr. Tom Rakes, UT Martin chancellor, will welcome guests at 8:30 a.m. and keynote speaker, Wayne Elsey, founder of Soles4Souls and author of “Almost Isn’t Good Enough,” will speak at 9 a.m.
The first set of concurrent sessions will follow at 10 a.m., and participants may choose to hear from Cary Vaughn, CEO of Love Worth Finding Ministries in Memphis on mega gifts; Amy Griffin, vice president/compliance officer, West Tennessee Healthcare (WTHC), on avoiding legal mousetraps; Steve Holt, owner of Steve Holt Consulting in Martin, on social media; and Wayne Elsey, founder of Soles4Souls, on board relations.
The second set of concurrent sessions will begin at 11 a.m. and attendees may hear from Dave Bratcher, vice president of financial services at the WTHC Foundation, on the four seasons of donor cultivation; Jeffrey Pearson, CFO of ALSAC at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, on marketing and communications; Nancy Choate, estate planning attorney, on planned giving; and Rev. Randy Carter, motivational speaker, on motivating volunteers and captivating donors through storytelling.
After lunch at noon, Pearson will give the luncheon keynote address at 12:45. Wrap-up and adjournment will be at 1:30 p.m.
