UT Martin student, Alyson Gilbert of Jackson, was one of 12 finalists chosen from a field of 45,000 earlier this year to vie for the “Nashville Star” crown when the sixth season began airing in June on NBC. Gilbert made her final appearance, June 30, singing She’s In Love With the Boy on the national television show after making the cut as one of nine contestants.
