Career Fair could be your best move

MARTIN - Lost your job? Opted for a buy out but not ready to retire? The “Career and Transition Assistance Fair” offered by First Citizens National Bank and the University of Tennessee at Martin Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (REED) Center may be your next career stop.

This event is being offered at no cost to those who have been displaced, lost their job from a buy out or layoff or just want a career change. It is planned from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., July 7, at the Hampton Inn in Union City.

Lunch keynote speaker, Chuck Doss, First Citizens Financial Plus, Inc. vice president/investment representative, will discuss financial advice and counseling. Other speaker topics will be resume writing, educational and training opportunities, mortgage advice, starting a business, tax issues and how to deal with a job loss.

The first 100 attendees will receive a copy of Ken Blanchard’s bestselling book, “Who Moved My Cheese,” donated by the UT Martin Hendrix Chair of Free Enterprise.

All speakers will also staff booths during the fair and be joined by Hamilton-Ryker, Job World and Manpower.

First Citizens National Bank will provide lunch. Pre-registration is recommended. For more information, contact Hollie Holt, REED Center coordinator, at 731-587-7333 or Doss at 731-886-1155 or register online at www.utm.edu/careerfair.
