Singers of all backgrounds and experiences can find a home within the Voice Area of the Department of Music. Vocal music is a thriving area of study throughout Tennessee, and UTM has exceptional voice faculty to help ensure you are prepared to meet the challenges and rewards of a vocal career. Our private voice professors, Dr. Amy Yeung and Dr. Roberto Mancusi, each teach full studios of voice students. These students concentrate on developing their solo vocal talents through the application of strong vocal technique, appropriate and challenging repertoire, and a multitude of performance opportunities that enable the students to develop their unique performance skills. Every student at UTM is a distinctive person with special abilities, and we work hard to help tailor our instruction to meet the specific needs of each student. Whether singing opera, art song, or in a choral ensemble, UTM’s voice majors are carefully groomed and prepared for the rigors of an exhilarating career in music.
