Department of Music

All majors in the Department of Music are required to demonstrate proficiency in a chosen instrumental or vocal area. All music majors participate in ensemble performances and present at least one solo recital throughout their collegiate careers. Applied music courses are offered for piano, voice, flute, double reeds, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion. The following ensembles are also available on campus: marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band, brass ensemble, woodwind ensemble, percussion ensemble, concert band, piano ensemble, university singers, New Pacer singers, lyric opera theatre, contemporary music group, community band, community orchestra, pep band and a variety of additional chamber ensembles.
