Monies received by Kiwanis clubs from fund-raising projects in which
the public participates or from members or others for service activities
sponsored by the club must be segregated from the administrative funds of the
club and used only for the club ’s service activities. Only the actual costs
of the fund-raising activity can be charged to the service account. Nor can
interest earned by the service account be transferred to the administrative
account. All non-service operating costs of the club must be charged to an
administrative account, which is funded by member dues and fees. This club has
2 separate accounts, activity and administrative. |

September Kiwanis Board Minutes
Members Present: Charley Deal, Lesa Finch,
Nadine Gearin, Misty Meness, Fran Robinson, Sue
Lasky, Sherol Sebring, Evelyn Blythe, Terry Duncan,
and Bettye Giles
2008-2009 Budget: Motion
to approve increase in monthly dues from $37 to $45 by Charley Deal, 2nd by Fran Robinson. This increase will
cover the Club with the increase in Sodexho’s meal prices and the increase in
International Dues. This increase
applies to Sr. Status and those on Leave of Absence, increasing monthly dues
by $1.00 plus price of meal. Motion
approved.
Membership Report: Ginny Esch resignation as
of September 1, 2008. Motion to
approve by Fran Robinson, 2nd by Charley Deal. Motion approved.
Leave of Absence request by
Kathy Eskew as of August 1, 2008-October 31, 2008. Motion to approve by Charley Deal, 2nd by Misty Meness. Motion approved.
Motion to approve new

New Business: Sue Lasky read thank you notes form CDS for $165
donation the Club made, and from City of Martin for
the volunteer hours at the Cal Ripken Tournament.
AED Project: Check has been received from Sharon First State
Bank to purchase AED for Sharon School. Martin Primary and Westview’s AEDs have been purchased, installed, and staff
trained. The purchase pf Martin Elementary AED will be made sometime after BBQ
day. Misty Meness reported the flyers for the BBQ sack
lunches will be in color this year and be ready for September 18. $250 allowed for this project. |
