Leadership Weakley County

The Leadership Weakley County Board of Directors are now taking applications for the 2009 Leadership Weakley County Class. Tuition for the program is $250.00, which covers the cost of administration, meals, and printed materials associated with the sessions and events. Classes meet on Thursdays from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. The Martin Kiwanis Club traditionally pays for one club member to take part in the class each year.  It is usually the Vice President or President Elect unless someone else has an interest.  Applications available at www.weakleycountychamber.com/chamber_information_leadership.html    Deadline is November 10, 2008.  See Sue Lasky.

Kiwanis Cub Scout Pack #37 Update
The next Cub Scout Pack meeting is Monday, November 10, 6:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. We are planning a space derby race on Friday, November 14 at Vincent Implements.  Help is needed. The Space Derby race uses small rockets made from balsa wood. They are propelled down a race track of fishing line, by a propeller turned by rubber bands. This year, there are about 50 boys active in the Pack. We have just finished selling popcorn as an annual fundraiser. Our gross sales is just over $8000.
