for Nadine

Visitation tonight from 5-8pm and Funeral Service at 2pm Thursday at
Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield.
The Kiwanis Club
of Martin was an all-male club until delegates to the International
Convention made it possible for women to participate as active
Kiwanians. The first women to be
inducted into our club were Nadine Gearin and Bettye Giles. Now
women make up over half of our membership. Thank you to Nadine for paving the way for women to become involved in
Kiwanis and for all her dedication to this club and it’s projects since
1988. She will be missed. |

Membership-At
the beginning of Sue’s term as president she sat a goal to achieve a net 10%
growth in members for our club. Even
with our recent membership drive, we
are still minus several from where we
started. Help us help Sue reach her
goal and bring in new members. We will
need approximately 7 new members between now and Oct. 1st to meet
this goal. Another incentive is that
if we reach the goal, we will meet the criteria to be named a DISTINGUISHED
KIWANIS CLUB.

AED QUICK FACT!!
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in
the United States.
o Each year, more than 400,000 people
die from SCA, often with no prior medical history.
o This includes around 12,000 student
athletes and 14,000 children.
o To put that in perspective, Traffic
accidents, hand guns, house fires, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and AIDS
combined kill 200,000 people per year. |
