Interclubs

Next week, Lt. Gov. Linda Ramsey will be visiting the clubs on Tuesday (2/8) to South Fulton and Wednesday (2/9) to Dyersburg.   If you would like to make an interclub, please let Linda know.


Sad News”

Long time club member Ernie Blythe died early Tuesday morning of a heart attack.   Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 – 7 pm at Murphy Funeral Home.   The funeral will be 10 am Friday morning at the funeral home chapel.   Please remember Evelyn, Roger, and Lane in your prayers.

“On the Mend”

Several members have been out due to surgeries in the recent past.   Bill Austin had stomach surgery and return to teaching this week.   Bettye Giles had cataract surgery last Wednesday.   Maggie Hampton is recovering from knee surgery.   Please drop these members a note and wish them well.

“THE CHALLENGE”

SELL, SELL, SELL TICKETS

A challenge has been issued to President Elaine to help encourage ticket sales.   The challenge IS IF our club sells 1000 or more tickets to Pancake Day, President Elaine will allow Keith Pettit to cut her hair at a club meeting.   It is rumored that Keith is busily searching the internet for new hair styles.   It is reported that he is acquiring a vast array of equipment in preparation for the big event.   Everyone Sell those tickets.  

Cheerleader Reception

The Martin Middle School Cheerleaders won first place in the NCA National Championship Competition in Dallas in December.   The City of Martin will host an appreciation ceremony this Sunday afternoon, 1:30 – 3:30 pm at the Middle School.   A presentation will be made at 1:45 pm.   This is the second year the team has won this honor.

Mid-Winter Conference

The Mid-Winter Conference is February 11 – 13 at Jackson, Mississippi.
