SUPER SHREDDER THURSDAY

Our club, along with WPSD-TV and WCMT radio, is sponsoring Super Shredder Thursday in Martin on Thursday, Feb. 17.   The shredder truck will be at the Wal-Mart Parking lot from 10 am – 6 pm.   Everyone is encouraged to bring your documents to be destroyed.

Interclubs

Tomorrow, Lt. Gov. Linda Ramsey will be visiting the South Fulton Kiwanis Club.   If you would like to make an interclub, please let Linda know.


. Board Meeting News

The Board of Directors met last Thursday at noon for the February meeting. The secretary and treasurer reports were accepted as presented.   Our membership is now 43 members, 40 Active and 3 Senior members.   Currently on Leave of Absence is Dan Tracy and Bob Bradley.   A letter of resignation was accepted from Janet Wilbert.   Tim Moore, Chris Mathis, were approved for membership.   A membership goal was set for this Kiwanis year to induct at least 5 new members into our club.

Bettye Giles updated the board on the shredder project with WPSD-TV and WCMT radio.   Thursday, Feb. 17 is the date for the event.   Otha Britton is going to assist Bob Bradley with updating the club website.   A discussion was held about new member orientation.   This needs to be completed for new members in a timely manner.    Elaine Knight will be attending the Mid-Winter Conference with Linda Ramsey.     Linda Ramsey announced the next Division meeting will be Saturday, March 12 at the Depot Center in Union City.

SELL, SELL, SELL TICKETS

A challenge has been issued to President Elaine to help encourage ticket sales.   The challenge IS IF our club sells 1000 or more tickets to Pancake Day, President Elaine will allow Keith Pettit to cut her hair at a club meeting.   It is rumored that Keith is busily searching the internet for new hair styles.   It is reported that he is acquiring a vast array of equipment in preparation for the big event.   Everyone Sell those tickets.  

Scouting Anniversaries

Boy Scouts of America celebrated their 95 th anniversary on Tuesday, Feb. 8.   Thursday, Feb. 10, the Cub Scouting portion of BSA celebrates their 75 th anniversary.   Our club sponsors Cub Scout Pack 37 in Martin.

The Mid-Winter Conference is February 11 – 13 at Jackson, Mississippi.
