Pinewood Derby This Saturday

Cub Scout Pack 37 will hold it’s annual Pinewood Derby this Saturday afternoon.   Registration will begin about noon and racing will begin shortly after 1 pm.   The event will be held at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.    Steve Lemond needs a few volunteers to help with the race.  

Division Meeting

The Division Meeting is this Saturday, 9 am – Noon at the Depot Center in Union City.    All members are encouraged to attend.   This is a perfect time for an Interclub.

Board News

The Board of Directors met last Thursday for their March meeting.     Nine members and 1 guest were present.    Currently our club has 44 members, with two members being on Leave of Absence. Cynthia Peterson was approved for a six month Leave of Absence due to work requirements.   Harry Henderson was approved for Senior Status.   Stuart Keading was removed from the membership role.

A request was received from the Key Club for monetary help attending the Key Club Convention.   A motion to approve $450 for the Key Club to attend the convention passed.    A nominating committee was appointed to accept nominations for upcoming officer and board positions.   David Sudberry, Jayne Parrish, and Charley Deal was appointed to this committee.   The Board thanked Bettye Giles for her hard work and success with Super Shredder Day.     The Pancake Day success was also talked about.  

Easter Egg Decorating Contest

David Sudberry is coordinating the Easter Egg Decorating Contest this year.   The event is Saturday, March 19.   Let David know if you can assist him on   Satuday, March 19.

If you still have ticket money outstanding, please turn this in ASAP.   We need to get a final tally of the tickets sold.    President Elaine is wondering if she will get a “Buzz Cut” or not!!     

Memorial for Ernie Blythe

There is a fundraiser to give a Tablet of Honor in memory of Ernie Blythe.   Several clubs are participating in this effort.   If you would like to make an individual contribution to this cause, please give your donation to Steve Lemond.   Please make your donation by March 16.

WLJT HELP

Sue Laskey is looking for volunteers to staff  the telephone bank this Saturday afternoon/evening for the WLJT Pledge Drive.   Shifts are 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm and 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm.   Let Sue know today if you can assist with this project.
