Relay for Life

Evelyn is looking for members to help with the Relay for Life team.  We have a K family team this year.  The Relay for Life event will be Friday, June 3 at the UTM Football Stadium.

Board Meeting News

The Board of Directors met last Thursday at the Weldon Public Library for the April meeting.  We had 6 members and 2 guests present.  Dan Tracy’s Leave of Absence was extended through Sept. 30, 2005.  Bob Bradley remains on Leave thru mid-May.  The Board accepted the resignation of Cynthia Peterson from the club.  Our club now has 40 active members and 3 senior members.

The nominating committee reported to the Board that they are looking for candidates for officers and board members.  The slate of nominees will be announced on April 27.  Nominations from the floor will be taken May 5.  The election will be held May 12.  Support for Circle K was discussed.  Jude Miller is interested in getting Circle K started again.  Frank Black has agreed to help be a sponsor for Circle K.  We need support from the membership to help with the Circle K club.

A fundraiser for Relay for Life was discussed.  K-Kids members will be taking pledges to break boards at the Evolution Martial Arts studio.  Boards cost $5 each.  Luminaries for $5 and Memorial Stars for $1 are being sold by the Relay committee.

Sympathy

Jim Scott’s mother passed away last Friday morning.  The funeral was Saturday afternoon.  Please keep Jim and his family in your prayers.

Convention

The International Convention is in Honolulu, Hawaii July 2 – 6.  The District Convention is in Lafayette, Louisiana  August 4 – 7.
