Reception to Honor Ernie Blythe, Tomorrow

The University of Tennessee at Martin will name the Honors Study Room in the Holland McCombs Center in memory of Dr. Ernie Blythe, May 12. A reception will be hosted in the Honors Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a special presentation at 2:15 p.m.

The study room will be named in honor of Ernie.   Evelyn

Board of Directors Minutes

The Board of Directors met last Thursday for the May meeting.  The secretary and treasurer reports were approved as presented.    Dan Tracy and Bob Bradley continue on Leave of Absence.  A request was granted from Dennis Suiter to be on Leave of Absence from April 1 thru August 31.   A request from the Relay for Life team was made for our club to help raise money for ROL.  We will have a silent auction at the Relay for Life.  Items will be collected for the silent auction.  The Governor’s visit is this coming weekend.  Several members are planning to attend.  DeAnna Chappell from the Martin Middle School Advisory Board presented Kiwanis with a project to raise money for Classic Books to be purchased for the MMS  The club is donating $200 toward this cause.  A letter was received from the Martin Fire Dept. requesting donations toward the Fire Safety Education program at the public schools.  The club will donate $200 toward this project.  A request from the Circle K was made to help offset the cost of Circle K dues to International for the upcoming year.  The club agreed to pay ½ of the membership dues for the first 25 members.  This would total $412.    Next Meeting June 2.

The Builder’s Club held the annual talent show last Friday.  The winners are:
